There are so many fun things that we can celebrate throughout the year. There are even some “celebrations” that make us scratch our heads. Here at AdvoCap Insurance Agency, Inc., we are excited about National Clean Your Virtual Desktop Day! This holiday is celebrated on the third Monday in October. This year, the holiday falls on Monday, October 21st.
What is this day all about? This is a day to organize your virtual desktop. Remember when your computer was new, everything was organized, and the trash was empty? There were no old or outdated files taking up space and causing clutter. Think of that feeling, and do some much-needed cleanup on your computer. Archive old files, pin favorite apps to the start menu, and create shortcuts; these are ways you can organize your space.
Having an organized desktop can help avoid frustrations when looking for files and help with security. Some things shouldn’t be saved on a desktop. They should be in a secured folder. Deleting unneeded items can help ensure essential items are not accidentally deleted later.
How did this fun holiday come about? The Personal Computer Museum in Branford, Ontario, Canada, created this day to celebrate technology and keep it running smoothly.
