Artificial Intelligence is becoming more popular and more available for public use. While AI can be beneficial, it also comes with a risk. Hackers are already attempting to break through safeguards on AI programming, which is concerning.
According to a recent Insurance Journal article, hackers could be attempting to manipulate sites like ChatGPT to cause harm or to gain access to private information provided to them. One issue with AI programs is how they present information, as they can often take false information given to them by someone and then provide it to someone else as fact.
Because of this, caution should be used when using AI for information, as well as when providing information to them. AI bots can have poor security measures, so personal and company information should never be provided to an AI bot, as this information could be repeated or accessed by a hacker. AI bots are also subject to data leaks, which means providing confidential information to them could be detrimental to your company.
Now is an excellent time for your company to remind employees of cyber safety measures when online and to update your cyber insurance policies.
