What would you do with some extra time? How about an extra day? Every four years, we get leap year, and we gain one whole day we didn’t have the year before. Leap days are intended to keep the calendar and the seasons in line yearly. A tropical or solar year is 365.2422 days long. Ignoring that fraction seems like it wouldn’t be much, but it is enough that eventually, our seasons and our months would not match up. Imagine a world where the school year starts in the Spring, not at the end of Summer. Planning holidays and events are all celebrated around our calendar and the seasons as we know them today. This is where February 29th comes into play and why it is such a special day.
How will you spend the day this year? Here are some suggestions from our team for how to spend the extra time.
- Organize your office
- Organize a closet
- Binge-watch a favorite show
- Take a nap
- Call an old friend
- Play a game
- Listen to a new podcast
- Read a book
- Review your essential documents to ensure up-to-date information (like your insurance docs)
However you choose to spend this special day we only get every four years, we hope you enjoy it. Take those extra hours and find something fun to do with your family and friends. From all of us at AdvoCap Insurance Agency, Inc., happy National Time Refund Day!
