- The power to appoint Notaries for the District of Columbia was still delegated to the President of the United States at the turn of the century. Today, the mayor of the district appoints its notaries.
- Pete Rose had to sign and swear in the presence of a Notary that he’d eaten the cereal ever since he was a kid to appear on a box of Wheaties.
- Being a notary used to be a family business. The father of Salvadore Dali wanted him to follow in his footsteps and become a notary. Salvadore had other plans.
