President, SGP Advisors

Our special partnership with the SGP Advisors has enabled us to bring together a first-class insurance team specifically to advise plaintiff lawyers. Mr. Mike Shea focuses on the unique needs of contingent-fee lawyers. 

Mike Shea serves as the President at SGP Advisors.  

He oversees all operations, manages the firm’s team of advisors, and works closely with the firm’s COO on a day-to-day basis.  In addition to these duties, he continues to focus on production and manages the relationships of some of the firm's largest clients, and identifies continued growth opportunities for the firm.

Mike is a member of the Executive Council for the Florida State University College of Business- Insurance and Risk Management Program. He also sits on the Tampa Metropolitan Downtown YMCA advisory board, is a member of the Governance Board of the First Tee of Tampa Bay, and on the Tampa Advisory Board for SouthState Bank. He is a graduate of the 2007 Tampa Connections Class.  Formerly, Mike was a member of the Hillsborough County Board for Junior Achievement,  Hillsborough Education Foundation Committee Member, and the Tampa Advisory Board for Platinum Bank.  Over the years, he has been active in a number of other non-profit organizations both personally and through Shea Barclay Group.

During his free time, Mike enjoys spending time with his wife Leila and their two sons, Reilly and Braden.  As well as traveling and playing golf.
